Covid-19 Response Hello, Friends of Nagpur, We hope you and your loved ones are keeping well and in positive spirits. As you all would be aware, the Coronavirus crisis has made a devastating impact across Nagpur. The entire social, economic and cultural structure is gradually transforming into an unpredictable reality. The Poverty-stricken have become more vulnerable to the pandemic and are struggling to get treated. The panic across Nagpur is scaringly real. The numbers of the affected are alarmingly high and unfortunately, many lives are being lost too. We are in uncharted waters. COVID-19 is present nearly everywhere, and our community is no exception. In such a dire situation, we at Nagpur First (founded in 2006 by enthusiastic Nagpuris with a vision of being a catalyst towards making Nagpur- a global city) are starting a fundraising campaign to continue helping especially the economically challenged people in the city and the nearby region in the following manner: Providing Food packets to patients and their relatives Providing Ration Kits for the needy ones Providing medicines for those who are struggling to buy/get Paying towards hospital expenses In addition, we are also looking to buy and supply Oxygen concentrators and Oxygen cylinders for those in need and to hospitals that are running low on these important life-saving equipment. We are also in discussion with UK-based BAPIO (British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin) to explore possible ways of setting up a Covid Care Center in Nagpur with their telemedicine support to monitor the health of the affected, solve their queries and treat them.
